Erm... it's hard to imaging that even websites have to meet certain standard. After doing the evaluation of the wksht, i have a better understanding of the webpages. Everytime i come across website i would start to compare the different search facilities, the content, coverage ect. Initially i thought that websites are just the place where ppl can freely give their opinion and no responsibility would need to be taken. But i was wrong, cause not all the website do that way. 4 some websites responsibility have to be taken 4 the opinion u give because it may affect others life.

E-learning

With internet, I am able to carry out research to find information to do my assignment.

In the past few lecture topics, i have learnt the different search engines and its characteristics, which i don't even know in the past. Using internet is fast and convenient, it searches for results simultaneously.

In conclusion, the internet is not only a tool. Its a friend to many of us, it has helped us alot in our academic life.

Search Engines

The search engines are the most commonly used to find information on the internet. It used software to automatically generate a database of websites and pages.

Meta Search Engines

The meta search engines is a metacrawler (or multi-search engines). Transmit search terms simultaneously to several search engines. It do not have it own database of web pages.

Subject Directories
It is a subject catalogs. Topical lists arranged in a hierarchical way. Users are able to select and browse a particular category. Differs in the level of quality control which are general, subject specific and reviewed. And the keyword searches are allowed.

Em... basically i learnt that even through all the 3 internet search engins, each of them contain their own special features. They r different in 1 way or another, but they have similarties also.

Reflections -week 3

I got learnt the three types of websites. Credible and related information and be found in organisation websites, and include company,university sites ect.;Subject-based websites have a particular subjuct focus and some subjects are more easily found than others; Personal websites maintained by an individual and relatesto personal interests ,it can be part of organisational page.

I feel the key word is very important , search with the correct key words I can find the needed resource message easily and more fast.

Search facilities I used were googlge and yahoo. And the topic I search is cancer.

I am ChaoNan, currently i'm studing in engineering sch, 3rd yr of Diploma in Electronics.

My best friend is rebecca , she is working aready , so i can meet her once a week , so sad... but everytime we meet we really enjoy it , and play like crazy girls.
